In our beginner team, we have conducted 20 interviews in our neighborhood, including target audiences from all demographic segmentation.
“By March 2022, Wuhan City already has 500+ units in use in different regions of the city.”
“How might we streamline the process of COVID testing to reduce wait times and increase efficiency, ensuring quick and reliable testing for individuals?”
Doing COVID tests is an important step in normalizing epidemic prevention. In traditional testing procedures, citizens spend too much time filling in ID information, and many sampling staff are needed for just one testing site which is a big cost for the government.

SOLUTION
I participated as a digital product and front-end development designer of the 1.0 version of the Nucleic Acid Helper project developed by Wuhan Saisi Technology Co., LTD.
In the 2.0 version of our product, the company has intentionally shifted the design direction towards a more classic aesthetic, moving away from a futuristic appearance. This decision is part of our commitment to align with timeless design principles, enhancing user familiarity and comfort. Alongside this aesthetic refinement, we have implemented substantial improvements to streamline the COVID testing process, ensuring a simpler and more efficient user experience.
By March 2022, Wuhan City already has 500+ units in use in different regions of the city.
In order to make this process more efficient and economical for all, We decided to design a testing system including a mobile App and two testing equipment, which enable citizens to use their phones to register for COVID tests and use a QR code to get the sampling material on the auto-register machine. This system will also reduce the workload of the sampling staff and create a safer environment for them.
